Description du lieu
Coronation Walk is the avenue of Cherry Blossoms that cuts diagonally across the Meadows in south Edinburgh. When the trees become a vivid canopy of pink, it’s a clear sign that summer is on the way. This view looks straight down the boulevard of gnarled trunks in the early morning light. The Meadows is a popular recreational area, as well as a busy thoroughfare from South Edinburgh and Marchmont to the Old Town and city. Arriving early is advisable to beat the crowds, and catch low light which warms the scene and casts long shadows across the path.
Notes de prise de vue
For a pink infused scene, time this strictly for spring, generally very late April to early May when the Cherry Blossoms peak for a fleeting matter of days. Early morning light or a slightly overcast day present the most even colour without uncontrollable contrasts. Early morning is more likely to present you with an unobstructed scene. Position yourself in the centre of the path for a symmetrical view to align the vanishing point and lead the viewer’s eye.
